created to recognize and assist women who are disadvantaged by social or economic circumstances. The event, scheduled for April 26th 2014, will host women identified through referrals from women’s shelters and non-profit community groups in the GTA.
The women selected will receive formal invitations to attend the event and will be treated to a once in a life time experience. Guests, with the help of stylists, will get to select brand new outfits from complimentary clothing, be pampered with mini makeovers and indulge in sweet treats during the afternoon tea. The guests will also have the opportunity to hear from inspiring women who have persevered despite their circumstances.
The founder and event organizer, Gina Pomone, hopes the day will not only be a much needed day of pampering but will give these women a chance to feel inspired, uplifted, hopeful and most of all BeYoutiful!
Ms. Pomone explains how the idea for the event came to her: “I was told of a mother of two who was in an abusive relationship who had no means to provide the basic needs for herself and her family. That very same day, I heard a friend say she had to purge her closet of clothes of which most still had tags. Shaking my head, I thought: ‘Wow! Two complete extremes: a woman who has nothing and a woman who has more than she needs. That’s how the idea for this event came to be.”
Valerie Alphonso from Community Outreach Canada said “Together with The BeYoutiful Project we will impact lives. These women are going through a change inside but with an event like this it can change them inside and out.”
Currently, the BeYoutiful Project is looking for donations of new or near new clothing and shoes in various sizes, bags, accessories, cosmetics and toiletries. Supporters and sponsors can assist by donating any products and/or services for this event or by contributing monetary donations at our FundRazr campaign website.
