I’ll preface this by saying that as much as I enjoy technology, I’m not a huge mobile app guy or, more accurately, I’m not someone who’s at the forefront of trying popular new apps.

Just like that, back to school season is upon us. I don’t have kids so I don’t know the intimate details of all that goes into preparing kids in 2018.

Technology has undoubtedly closed the gap on the need for entrepreneurs or anyone with an idea to get a relatively robust, well-designed website up and running within a matter of days, if not hours.

Analogically speaking, if Bitcoin is the flashy, expensive, stylish Tesla car everyone wants to drive, then Blockchain technology would be the electric motor that runs that car.

There was once a day, not too long ago, when the concept of an online retailer completely displacing traditional brick and mortar stores was a foreign thought. Enter Amazon.

A few weeks ago, I headed to the 2nd annual AfroTech conference in San Francisco, a conference dedicated to highlighting Black excellence in technology.

In my last post, I mentioned how important mental fortitude is on the journey of learning to code.

I’ve had countless conversations (in this case, let’s call my conversation partner Sam) that have gone something like this:

I entered the technology field a few years ago for a number of reasons. I love innovation. I often question the status quo and try to push my comfort zones. I enjoy the thought of change and how often only through change, do we see the improvements in our everyday lives and in the larger world that we envision.

One of the few things you would be hard pressed to find is a parent who would be comfortable with their child not learning how to read.
